MACRYNAL VSM 2702/58XSNA is used in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates, e.g. Demodur N 75 or Desmodur N 3390 for high quality two-component industrial coatings. To be emphasized is the excellent adhesion, even to non iron metals.

MACRYNAL VSM 2570/70BAC is a high solids content at application viscosity- Good drying speed. Good adhesion to metals. Very Good mechanical properties, Good gloss and Good outdoor durability. Macrynal VSM 2570 is a hydroxy functional acrylic resin cross-linkable with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate air drying and forced drying 2-pack high solids coating systems. In pigmented topcoats (pigment/binder = 1 : 1) a solids content of 65 % at application viscosity of 55 s (efflux time DIN EN ISO 2431, 4 mm, 23 °C) can be achieved. To ensure that optimal properties are obtained it is necessary to have complete crosslinking. For stoichiometric (equivalent) crosslinking (NCO : OH = 1 : 1) approx. 100 parts per weight Macrynal VSM 2570 (f.o.d.) require approx. 21 parts per weight Desmodur N 3390 (Covestro). in combination with amines like diethyl amino ethanol (approx. 0.2 %, based on solid resin). Potlife is thereby reduced, however. Dilution Suitable diluents are butyl acetate, methyl isobutyl ketone, 2-methoxypropyl acetate or aromatic solvents like solvent naphtha 150/180. Anhydrous solvents as well as solvents free of hydroxy functional groups should be used in the presence of isocyanates. Pigments Inert pigments and extenders are suited for pigmentation. Pigments with basic surface treatment can act as additional catalyst and shorten the potlife even more. MACRYNAL SM 513/60LG is an excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance, high gloss. Fast drying two pack systems, in paricular for primer surfacers for car repairs and for general industrial applications. In combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates Macrynal SM 513/60LG is recommended for at ambient temperature drying or forced drying two pack systems. The principal application field is automotive refinishing and high-grade industrial paints. Due to its rapid initial drying Macrynal SM 513 is especially useful for the formulation of primer surfacers. Automotive refinishing clearcoats based on Macrynal SM 513 must be stabilized with light stabilizers.

MACRYNAL SM 2855/70BAC is a high solid binder for the formulation of fast drying, highly crosslinked two-pack polyurethane coatings providing outstanding properties in terms of chemical and solvent resistance. In combination with low viscous, aliphatic polyisocyanates Macrynal SM 2855 provides air-drying and forced drying high-solids two-pack top- and clearcoats characterized by a low content of volatile organic compounds (VOC) together with a very fast hardness increase upon curing. When fully crosslinked these coatings match highest requirements in terms of chemical and solvent resistance as well as low VOC emissions (< 420 g/l) making aircraft coatings, military vehicle coatings, etc. the main areas of application, the use in car repair clearcoats, mainly as combinatorial resin, is also possible. For use in more cost-efficient industrial topcoats it is recommended to considerably undercrosslink (70 - 80 % theoretical degree of crosslinkage). Such high-solids coatings provide excellent early hardness combined with high end hardness also at lower curing temperatures (e.g. 5 - 10 °C in field applications), as well as good outdoor resistance.
