This polyurethane emulsion was designed to formulate coating systems for various plastics such as ABS, PA, rigid PVC, flexible PVC and PMMA. Aqueous primers and base coats can be formulated. The adhesion to any plastic substrate to be coated should be carefully examined firstly.

DAOTAN VTW 1686/40WA is used as sole binder or in combination with melamine resins and/or polyurethane dispersions for the production of waterdilutable industrial paints, e. g. base coats.

Beckocoat PU 428 has also proved an ideal vehicle for coating sports articles like spears, bowling pins, golf balls, bats, hockey sticks, tennis rackets, etc. In exterior use, Beckocoat PU 428 will lose gloss and will yellow. Weather resistance and gloss retention can be enhanced through coemploying alkyd resins like VIALKYD AR 408.
