Epotec YDH 184 is diglycidyl ester of hexahydrophthalic anhydride. Due to the cyclic ring of hexahydrophthalic anhydride this resin is expected to give good resistance to ultraviolet light and weathering which is a limitation when it comes to standard bisphenol-A based epoxy resins. This also opens doors for cycloaliphatic epoxy resin epotec YDH 184 for use in outdoor coating applications where it is expected to give better non-yellowing characteristics and chalking resistance.
