COSPHADERM HEXIOL

1,2-Hexanediol

Cosphaderm® Hexiol is a pure, transparent and colorless glycol. Two vicinal OH-groups and a short carbon chain allow unlimited water-solubility. This property is strongly relevant to its most common cosmetic use as a moisturizer and humectant for both skin care and hair care formulations. Static light scattering experiments have shown that Cosphaderm® Hexiol can also be used to stabilize o/w emulsions by droplet size reduction. Another core property of 1,2-hexanediol is its pH-independent antimicrobial activity. It further shows remarkable synergistic effects in combination with other antimicrobial substances, making it possible to minimize the total amount of combined preserving agents.
Cosphaderm® GMCY

Glyceryl Caprylate

Cosphaderm® GMCY is a high purity ester of glycerine and caprylic acid with at least 88% monoester content. Produced from natural sources, it is a readily biodegradable ingredient used in cosmetic and food industry applications for its emollient and emulsifying as well as moisturizing, wetting and refatting properties. Cosphaderm GMCY also provides a strong antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria and yeasts over a pH range from 3.5 to 7.5.
Cosphaderm® Heptiol natural

1,2-Heptanediol

Cosphaderm Heptiol natural is a pure and colourless diol with a water-solubility of up to 1%. It is used as a moisturizer and Humectant for both skin care and hair care formulations. Static light scattering experiments have shown that Cosphaderm diols can also be used to stabilize o/w emulsions by droplet size reduction.
