It can be used as a coalescent agent in water-based resin dispersions, paints, and coatings, a retarder solvent for high-bake coatings, a plasticizer in cosmetics and ink, an intermediate for synthesizing ester derivatives for plasticizers, and as an additive in chemical separation processes for mineral processing, pulp & paper, and water treatment.
