The Spartacryl PM® Series colorants have been designed for broad use in industrial coatings. These products have been formulated to provide an universal colorant system to the coatings formulator for tinting and full pigmentation of most solvent-based industrial coatings. Key Benefits The Spartacryl PM® Series pigment dispersions for solvent-based industrial coatings applications consist of industrial quality organic and inorganic pigments finely milled in an acrylic carrier resin. The acrylic carrier resin along with a proprietary additive package allows for high pigment solids and superior compatibility. These components also allow for a rheological profile suitable for in-plant tinting. Because of the wide compatibility of the dispersing resin, the Spartacryl PM® Series colorants can be used as the only solvent-based colorant line needed to tint a wide range of solvent-based coatings. The color palette is suitable for matching most industrial colors. The cross-compatibility with other colorants in the line will allow for blending of the masstone colors to create color pack that can be used on the job site. Properties The dispersing resin in the Spartacryl PM® Series is a nonfunctional acrylic polymer with a tightly controlled, low molecular weight. The molecular weight of the vehicle helps to ensure full development of pigment strength through its exceptional wetting properties while providing a rheological profile suited for in-plant tinting. PM acetate is used as the solvent because it is not toxic and does not react with cross-linking resins such as isocyanates. Only prime pigments are included in this line’s formulations; no extenders are present. Applications The Spartacryl PM® Series is formulated for use in most solvent-based industrial coatings including, but not limited to, concrete protection, general industrial, industrial maintenance, marine, plastic, and wood coatings. These colorants also perform well in decorative and special effect paints for sporting equipment.

Luna-nol C-12 is an efficient, low-odour coalescent for all types of latex paints, particularly interior paints. It helps to enhance performance properties of the of the coating including low temperature coalescence, touch-up, and scrub resistance.

 

Luna-nol C-12 mixes easily into latex paints and does not affect the stability of the product. It also can be used as a retarder solvent in coil coatings and baking enamels, as well as in other applications such as printing inks, floor polishes and oil-drilling muds.

SYNTHOMER™ NX 795 is a versatile product with multiple applications. It can be used as a coalescent agent in water-based resin dispersions, paints, and coatings, a retarder solvent for high-bake coatings, a plasticizer in cosmetics and ink, an intermediate for synthesizing ester derivatives for plasticizers, and as an additive in chemical separation processes for mineral processing, pulp & paper, and water treatment.

Luna-nol C-16 is not classified as a VOC according to European Union Decopaint Directive 2004/42/EC. Luna-nol C-16-H should be added in the letdown stage after the mill-base is finished.
Luna-nol C-16 also finds application as a low viscosity, phthalate-free plasticiser for PVC.
