ARGAN OIL

ARGAN OIL is prepared by pressing the slightly roasted kernels of the argan tree [Argania spinosa (L.) fruit. A. spinosa is only endemic in south-western Morocco. It’s most frequently sold as pure oil, which can be directly applied topically (directly to the skin) or ingested in order to provide several health benefits. For years, Argan forest dwellers have claimed that Argan oil is hepatoprotective and choleretic, that it prevents diabetes and that it has anti-inflammatory properties. Edible Argan oil is therefore the basis of the ‘amazigh diet’. As a cosmetic, Argan oil revitalises the skin, cures acne, hydrates dry skin, makes hair shine and so on. Both help reduce symptoms for a number of different inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and rosacea. Argan oil is also best known as a moisturizer. As a result, it’s frequently found in lotions, soaps, and hair conditioners. It can be administered physically or taken orally with regular supplements to provide moisture.
