SiSiB® PC5902 is a monomeric medium-chain alkylfunctional silane, appearing as a colorless liquid that is soluble in common non-polar organic solvents. It is primarily used as a surface modifier to impart hydrophobic properties to materials like concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, and mineral fillers. SiSiB® PC5902 improves the compatibility between pigments or fillers and organic polymers, allowing for easy dispersion. It is typically recommended at a concentration of 0.5-1.5% based on the weight of the filler or pigment. Additionally, when diluted, it can be used in water repellent formulations, providing long-lasting hydrophobic protection without altering the substrate's appearance.
