SNOWHITE ®86 kaolin is ultra- white and ultra- fine calcined kaolin. It has been dehydroxylated by controlled heat treatment for removal of crystalline-bound hydroxyl groups and to improve brightness it is highly pulverized for better dispersion. The effect is the particle shape, chemistry and mineralogy of the kaolin is altered. This process produces a calcined kaolin with excellent optical and physical properties which are particularly suitable for the paint industry.
