Epotec YDH 3000 is diglycidyl ether of hydrogenated bisphenol-A. Due to the cyclic rings of saturated bisphenol-A this resin is expected to give good resistance to ultraviolet light and weathering which is a limitation when it comes to standard bisphenol-A based epoxy resins. This also opens doors for cycloaliphatic epoxy resin epotec YDH 3000 for use in outdoor coating applications where it is expected to give better non-yellowing characteristics and chalking resistance. The choice of curing agent also plays an important role in getting better performing formulations.
Epotec YDH 3000 shows much lower viscosity than std. bisphenol-A based epoxy resins making it feasible to develop cost effective coating formulations with increased filler content.
Applications
EPOTEC YDF 170LC is unmodified low viscosity Diglycidyl ether of Bisphenol F. EPOTEC YDF 170LC provides improved crystallization resistance relative to EPOTEC YDF 170. It offers advantage in terms of processing due to low viscosity and provides better chemical resistance compared to Bisphenol-A based liquid resins. It brings down viscosity without affecting performance parameters unlike reactive diluent modified resin that affects chemical and thermal resistance of the system substantially.
Applications
EPOTEC® TH 7334 is a low viscosity, low colour modified cycloaliphatic polyamine curing agent for use with liquid epoxy resins such as EPOTEC® YD 128 to produce solvent free room temperature curable thermoset coatings, floor toppings. When formulated appropriately with epoxy resin it gives clear, air free, glossy surfaces. It has high blush resistance under high humidity condition. It also provides resistance to variety of chemicals such as acids, alkalies, hydrocarbons and water.
