Luna PTSI-P is used in the formulation of polyurethane products as a reactive additive with low viscosity. Luna PTSI-P prevents moisture related problems by reacting with trace moisture. Excess water reacts with Luna PTSI-P towards the corresponding carbamic acid, which undergoes immediate decomposition to form carbon dioxide and the relatively inert p- toluenesulfonamide, which is commonly used as a plasticizer.

Luna SI-ICPTES hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture to form silanols, which can react with themselves to produce siloxanes.
