SYLOID® AQ 800 silica is an additive for premium performance coating, especially for wood. It is a modified matting agent that enables the formulation of more environmentally friendly waterborne wood coatings with high chemical resistance and transparency that produce natural-looking, deep matte finishes on wood furniture, cabinets, and floors. Unlike typical silica matting agents, Grace’s SYLOID® AQ silicas have unique properties that achieve a highly matted surface with excellent chemical resistance, excellent clarity, and good scratch and metal marking resistance. In addition, SYLOID® AQ silicas are easier to disperse and produce less dusting than typical silica matting agent.

EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is a cellulose ester with high butyryl content, low hydroxyl content, and medium ASTM(A) viscosity. It offers a wide range of solubility and compatibility. It is tolerant of nonpolar aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. It produces a relatively soft, flexible film requiring little or no plasticizer in many applications. When EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is dissolved in appropriate solvents a clear, colorless solution is produced. EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is supplied as a dry, white free-flowing powder and is convenient to handle.

EASTMAN CA-398-3 FOOD CONTACT is one of the lower viscosity solution grades of cellulose acetate. The average ASTM viscosity of EASTMAN CA-398-3 FOOD CONTACT is 3 seconds. EASTMAN CA-398-3 FOOD CONTACT is supplied in the form of a fine, dry, free-flowing powder. EASTMAN CA-398-3 FOOD CONTACT can offer a multipurpose rheology enhancer that provides high strength and good resistance to ultraviolet light, heat, oils, and greases. Useful in lacquers for glass, plastic, wire, and release coatings. It may be blended with appropriate solvents, plasticizers, and other modifying resins to formulate coatings for paper, glass, plastic, wire screen, and electrical wiring. When dissolved in appropriate solvents selected for EASTMAN CA-398-3 FOOD CONTACT, a clear, colourless solution is produced.
