Eastman DB Solvent (Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether) is used in a wide range of applications including adhesives, sealants, architectural coatings, automotive parts, brake fluids, concrete, flexographic printing inks, industrial cleaners, janitorial cleaners, lubricants, marine coatings, paints, coatings, and textile dyeing. It improves the flow-out and gloss of baking enamels, acts as an effective coalescent in formulations, increases dry times in printing inks, and provides excellent coupling ability for removing contaminants in cleaners. It also promotes rapid, uniform penetration of dyes in textile dyeing formulations. The solvent is characterized by its efficient coalescence, good coupling efficiency, high blush resistance, high dilution ratio, low volatility, low surface tension, miscibility with water and most organic liquids, slow evaporation rate, and is REACH compliant. It is readily biodegradable and meets LVP-VOC exemption criteria in some states, as specified by California’s Consumer Product Regulation. Additionally, it is listed as an inert ingredient for use in both nonfood and food-use pesticide products under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
