EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is a cellulose ester with high butyryl content, low hydroxyl content, and medium ASTM(A) viscosity. It offers a wide range of solubility and compatibility. It is tolerant of nonpolar aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. It produces a relatively soft, flexible film requiring little or no plasticizer in many applications. When EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is dissolved in appropriate solvents a clear, colorless solution is produced. EASTMAN™ CAB 500-5 is supplied as a dry, white free-flowing powder and is convenient to handle.

EASTMAN™ CAB 171-15 is soluble in low molecular weight ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and nitroparaffins. When CAB-171-15 is dissolved in appropriate solvents a clear, colorless solution is produced.

OPACILITE™ is a high whiteness calcined kaolin produced by a special rapid heating process. This process creates large numbers of tiny, sealed voids within the kaolin particles, resulting in a low specific gravity and outstanding opacifying properties. OPACILITE™ gives a unique balance of dry hiding, opacity, matting and scrub resistance, making it the first choice for TiO2 extension in high quality matt and silk paints. OPACILITE™ is great to use in architectural paints, industrial coating, inks and general paints and coatings applications.
