PLASTOLYN™ 290 HYDROCARBON RESIN is a versatile, aromatic, water-white, very high softening point resin for use in polymer modification, adhesives, overprint lacquers, coatings and a variety of other applications. Recommended as a flow modifier in such polymers as polyvinylchloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and styrenic block copolymers. Its water white color and good economy, combined with superior heat and ultraviolet light (UV) stability compared with conventional C9 hydrocarbon resins, provide formulators a new level of quality without sacrificing competitiveness.

MINEX® ST OV100 (particle size 7) is a hydrophobic, surface-treated nepheline syenite (NS) designed for enhanced performance in coatings and adhesives. This grade is easily dispersed in a wide range of reactive solvent-borne and 100% solids resin systems. It is particularly effective in polyurea resin and coating systems where variable surface moisture can lead to film defects. MINEX ST OV100 is engineered to deliver superior performance in polyurethane, polyaspartic, polyester, and silicone resin systems. MINEX® ST is available in three particle sizes—4, 7, and 10—and two functional treatments: A100 and OV100. It offers similar optics, handling, gloss, and color acceptance as the equivalent MINEX grades, while delivering improved dispersion and higher loading capacity in select systems—enabling cost savings and reduced VOC content.

 

MINEX® ST micronized functional fillers and extenders are proven performance enhancers across a broad range of paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and inks. Select surface treatments were developed to further enhance chemical and stain resistance, washability, adhesion, weatherability, optical clarity, color retention in tinted systems, abrasion resistance, and tensile strength—by compatibilizing the mineral surface with the host binder systems and reactive chemistries.

 

MINEX and MINEX ST functional fillers are produced from nepheline syenite—a naturally occurring, silica-deficient, sodium-potassium alumina silicate. Automated scanning electron microscopy confirms they contain less than 0.1% crystalline silica, with no detectable free crystalline silica in the mineral complex. All MINEX ST grades are processed and sized in strict adherence to Covia’s QIPSM quality assurance programs, ensuring consistently uniform chemistries, tight particle size distributions, and controlled top sizes for reliable performance.

Ricobond 1731 is a viscous, brown liquid polymer composed of low molecular weight polybutadiene functionalized with maleic anhydride. It serves as an effective adhesion promoter and reactive compatibilizer, enhancing bonding in rubber compounds, adhesives, sealants, coatings, and encapsulants. Its maleic anhydride groups enable strong reactions with epoxy, amine, and hydroxyl groups, providing moisture resistance and compatibility with both polar and non-polar materials.

RICOBOND 1731 HS is a powdered maleinized polybutadiene dispersion combined with amorphous silica for easy handling. This free-flowing powder enhances adhesion in rubber compounds to metals and textiles, offering excellent reactivity and moisture resistance. It serves as a reactive toughener and compatibilizer, ideal for elastomers, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and electronics applications.
