EASTMAN™ CELLULOSE ACETATE PROPIONATE (CAP-504-0.2) is a free-flowing powder having low odor, low color, and high hydroxyl content. It is fast dissolving, has good water tolerance and resistance to souring, and is compatible with many ink resins and solvents. It has good resistance to discoloration from UV light and has good adhesion to plastics. It has a low viscosity (0.2 seconds) and has an approximate propionyl content of 42.5 wt%. When CAP-504-0.2 is dissolved in appropriate solvents, a clear, colorless solution is produced. Eastman CAP-504-0.2 is based on cellulose, one of the most abundant natural renewable resources. The calculated approximate bio-content value of 49% for Eastman CAP-504-0.2 was determined by using six bio-based carbon atoms per anhyroglucose unit divided.Show Less

Other than a higher viscosity and molecular weight, this cellulose ester shares the same general characteristics as CAB-381-0.1 and CAB-381-0.5. CAB-381-2 offers a combination of solubility and compatibility, moisture resistance, excellent surface hardness, and good film strength. When CAB-381-2 is dissolved in appropriate solvents, a clear, colorless solution is produced. It is supplied as a dry, free-flowing powder. Eastman CAB-381-2 is based on cellulose, one of the most abundant natural renewable resources. The calculated approximate bio-content value of 40% for Eastman CAB-381-2 was determined by using six bio-based carbon atoms per anhyroglucose unit divided by the total number of carbons per anhyroglucose unit. Although the value reported is not specifically measured for bio-carbon, it can be estimated based on typical partition data.Show Less

It has the lowest Tg (glass transition temperature) of the CAB portfolio. It also has the second lowest M(n), which helps its compatibility with other coatings components. It is compatible with numerous cross-linking resins and has a lower solution viscosity. In coatings, Eastman CAB-551-0.01 gives clear films, reduces surface tack and mottling, minimizes cratering, improves flow and thermal reflow, and provides inter coat adhesion and good UV stability. Its good compatibility with a wide range of curing resin systems and its solubility in a wide variety of solvents and solvent combinations make it useful as an additive in numerous coating compositions. When dissolved in appropriate solvents selected for CAB-551-0.01, a clear, colorless solution is produced. It is useful in lacquers for glass, plastic, wire and release coatings and is available in pellet form.Show Less

EASTMAN™ CHLORINATED POLYOLEFIN 343-1 (100% SOLIDS) is supplied as a white powder and is soluble in both toluene and xylene. It is 18-23 wt. % chlorine. CP 343-1 has good resistance to high temperatures. Because of its limited solubility, solutions of CP 343-1 may become hazy, partially precipitate from solution or gel with exposure to low temperatures. Should any of the above conditions occur, warming the contents to approximately 38° 49° C, with mild agitation will generally return the product to its original condition.
