IMWITOR® 988 is a partial ester of caprylic acid and glycerol. Fatty acids and glycerol are derived from vegetable sources.
WITEPSOL® products of series W are hard fats with hydroxyl values of 20–50. They consist of a mixture of triglycerides (65–80%), diglycerides (10–35%), and monoglycerides (1–5%). As a result of their composition, these WITEPSOL® grades have a larger gap between melting and solidification points, they are less sensitive to shock cooling (more elastic), solidify more slowly, and can be readily processed both with automatic machines and with small-scale equipment. The partial glyceride content also slows down the sedimentation of solids and promotes the absorption of less readily absorbable active compounds.
WITEPSOL® W35 has a melting point 33.5–35.5°C and a hydroxyl value of 40–50 mg KOH/g

WITEPSOL® H 15 (Glycerolester of C8 to C18 fatty acids) is made from glycerol esters of vegetable saturated fatty acids, mainly lauric acid and is derived from coconut and palm kernel oils. It is hard fats which are characterized by a low hydroxyl value. It is being used in the for application for rectal and vaginal use. It is GMP, OU Kosher, Halal certified. It is listed on Ph. Eur., USP-NF, JPE, US DMF No. 420.
WITEPSOL® W 25 (Ph. Eur.: Hard Fat, Adeps solidus) grades are hard fats with hydroxyl values between 20–50. They comprise of mixture of 65–80% of triglycerides, 10–35% of diglycerides and 1–5 % of monoglycerides. Correspondingly they have a wider gap between melting and solidification temperatures and are therefore more insensitive (elastic) to shock cooling. They solidify more slowly. The amount of partial glycerides delays the sedimentation of solid active ingredients and promotes wetting of mucous membranes. It is being used in the for application for rectal and vaginal use. It is GMP, OU Kosher, Halal certified. It is listed in Ph. Eur., USP-NF, JPE, US DMF No. 420.
