A report study reported that malt extract and germinated barley extract were more effective at inhibiting the melanin production than the barley extract was. In traditional Korean medicine, Schisandra chinensis is known for its warming properties that promote blood circulation. It has been reported that S. chienesis has many properties such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, skin whitening, anti-aging, anti-allergic, and anti-inflammatory. Additionally, a study reported it as a potential agent for acne therapy against P. acnes and photoaging prevention.
