Personal Care Ingredients

Cosphaderm® GMCY is a high purity ester of glycerine and caprylic acid with at least 88% monoester content. Produced from natural sources, it is a readily biodegradable ingredient used in cosmetic and food industry applications for its emollient and emulsifying as well as moisturizing, wetting and refatting properties. Cosphaderm GMCY also provides a strong antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria and yeasts over a pH range from 3.5 to 7.5.

Cosphaderm® SF-75H is a fractionated and hydrogenated de-oiled sunflower lecithin in powdered form with a phosphatidylcholine content exceeding 70%. The hydrogenation of double bonds of the fatty acids provides greater oxidation stability and much better emulsifying and dispersion properties in aqueous media compared to common fractionated lecithin. In addition, Cosphaderm SF-75H is a great choice for forming micelles and liposomes since the structure of hydrogenated lecithin facilitates more compact and stable interfaces. Finally, it is an excellent co-emulsifier and emulsifier for both o/w and w/o emulsions, even in cold process formulations, without impacting color or odor.

Cosphaderm® Dicapo natural is a cost-efficient, multifunctional blend based on natural and COSMOS-approved caprylyl glycol in combination with glyceryl caprylate and propanediol. Caprylyl glycol is an emollient with Humectant abilities as well as skin and hair conditioning properties. Glyceryl caprylate is an emollient and co-emulsifier with moisturizing, wetting and refatting properties. Propanediol keeps the other two components in solution for ease of application and contributes Humectant and emollient properties to the blend. All three substances additionally have a mild but efficient antimicrobial character. Taken together, the blend has moisturizing and emollient properties while offering comprehensive antimicrobial protection over a broad pH-range in a wide variety of formulations.

COSPHADERM SB-75H is a fractionated and hydrogenated, de-oiled soybean lecithin in powdered shape (PC content min 70 %). The hydrogenation of double bonds in the fatty acids results in a higher stability towards destructive oxidation and much better emulsifying and dispersion properties in aqueous media compared to common fractionated lecithin.
