Viablife Ceramide AP is a Ceramide 6 II, also known as N-acylated sphingolipid, is a ceramide derived from phytosphingosine, a compound naturally found in the skin. This specific ceramide plays a vital role in maintaining skin health and integrity. Its distinctive structure resembles an alpha-hydroxy fatty acid, either saturated or unsaturated, contributing to its unique properties. In the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin), Ceramide 6 II constitutes approximately 16% of the total ceramide content in this layer. It is instrumental in reinforcing the skin barrier function, preventing moisture loss, and protecting the skin from external irritants. Viablife Ceramide AP strengthens the skin's lipid barrier, reducing moisture loss and improving the skin's defence against pollutants and irritants.
