Cosphaderm® Sodium pAS natural is the sodium salt of plant-derived anisic acid. Due to its gentle and pleasant odour, Cosphaderm® Sodium pAS natural can be used as a masking agent to cover undesired odours from other ingredients. Another core property of sodium anisate is the strong antimicrobial efficacy against yeasts and moulds at pH values below 6.0. The big advantage of sodium anisate is its superior water-solubility, which makes this product even easier to incorporate into cosmetic formulations than anisic acid.

Viablife PHS, Phytosphingosine is a type of spingoid base, a component found in the lipid layer of the skin. It plays a role in maintaining the skin’s barrier function. Phytosphingosine contributes to the formation of the skin’s lipid barrier, which is essential for preventing water loss and protecting the skin from external irritants. A healthy barrier function is important for maintaining skin hydration. Phytosphingosine primarily functions as a humectant, antioxidant, and skin conditioner in cosmetics and skincare products. In skincare products, phytospingosine is often included to support the skin’s natural functions and enhance the barrier. It is a versatile ingredient with benefits for various skin types. Additionally, Phytosphingosine exhibits antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial in preventing and treating skin conditions such as acne.

Cosphaderm HAP is a cost-efficient, water-soluble multifunctional with strong antimicrobial activity, particularly effective against yeasts and moulds. It offers high pH stability in the range of 3 to 9 and does not affect the sensory or physical properties of the formulation. Thanks to its mild profile and its additional antioxidant properties, it is well-suited for a wide variety of formulations while maintaining effective preservation.

Cosphaderm® CHA is the Hydroxamic Acid of caprylic acid. The natural organic acid is a chelator and antimicrobial with a strong efficacy against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, especially yeasts and molds. In contrast to other organic acids, Cosphaderm® CHA remains undissociated even at neutral pH and is therefore applicable over a broad pH range up to pH 7.5. The combination of chelating and antimicrobial properties in one molecule allows for use of Cosphaderm CHA for stabilization of cosmetic formulations against metal ion-induced oxidation and protection against microorganisms at the same time.
