These pure maltitol syrus, specifically designed for cosmetics, are produced by hydrogenation of natural disaccharide maltose obtained from a specific enzymatic hydrolysis of native starch. It is used in cosmetic products for their multifunctional properties, mainly acting as humectants, texturizers and palatability enhancers in oral care.

KAHLWAX 5023 CARNAUBA is obtained from leaves of the Brazilian palm tree Copernicia Cerifera. Due to the age of the utilized leaves, this grade of wax has a darker color. KahlWax 5023 Carnauba is often used for fruit coatings and as bakery release agents. It is also suitable for technical pencils and as additives for plastic, e.g. thermoplastic polyurethane.
