The first step involves synthesizing hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), followed by further etherification to produce methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (MHEC). It combines the advantages of good water retention and leveling properties of HEC with the water resistance and storage stability of methyl cellulose. Meanwhile, BCR30000 can be dissolved in both cold and hot water, eliminating the need to dissolve it in hot water before adding like HPMC. It can be made into an aqueous solution before use, avoiding cumbersome processes and instability of aqueous solutions during its storage.
