HALOX® CW-291 is white, nonrefractive, corrosion inhibiting pigments used in protective coating systems. They are not recommended for use in immersion or semi-immersion environments. HALOX® CW-291 has the lowest oil absorption of our borosilicate products and is recommended for use in protective coating systems based on alkyd technology. Because of its low oil absorption, HALOX® CW-291 is specifically suggested for use in high solids, medium gloss topcoats, DTM (direct-to-metal) finishes and self priming systems. HALOX® CW-291 is compliant to ASTM D 4288-83, Specification for Calcium Borosilicate Pigment Type 1, Class B. HALOX® CW-291 recommended loading levels range from 5-10% based on total formula weight in primer systems and 2-5% based on total formula weight in topcoat and DTM finishes. PVC levels should range from 40-45% in primers and 15-25% in topcoats and DTM’s.

HALOX® 580 is a sustainable, ultra-low VOC (<0.5%), bio-based liquid corrosion inhibitor designed for protection of water-based, solvent-based, high solids, 100% solids paints, direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings. It is suitable for thin-film coatings, 1K acrylic emulsions, 2K epoxies, water reducible alkyds, 2K polyurethanes, alkyds, urethane alkyds, etc. With 50% bio-content, HALOX® 580 provides a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution for corrosion protection while maintaining formulation flexibility, as it can be post-added or incorporated during the letdown phase.

 

HALOX® 580 is a clean-label inhibitor, free from heavy metals, APEO, and HAPS, making it non-hazardous for shipping and transportation, ultimately reducing costs and regulatory concerns. Engineered for both waterborne and solvent-borne paints, HALOX® 580 enhances adhesion and water resistance, minimizing osmotic blistering while maintaining good shelf stability. Its organophosphate and bio-based solvent carrier provides a synergistic boost to traditional anticorrosive pigments, improving overall coating performance. Non-flammable and with minimal gloss impact, it is an ideal choice for high-solids primers, topcoats, and eco-label-compliant coatings across various resin systems, including acrylic, epoxy, urethane, and alkyds.

HALOX® SZP-395 is a white, nonrefractive, corrosion inhibiting pigment used in protective coating systems. HALOX® SZP-395 is our most efficient and versatile corrosion inhibitive pigment. It is recommended for use in a wide variety of resin systems and is equally effective in such resins as: alkyds (both traditional and high solids), epoxies, latexes, water reducible alkyds, high acid value resins, catalyzed baking systems, and vinylidene chloride latexes. The fine particle size and low oil absorption of HALOX® SZP-395 makes it the pigment of choice in thin film applications. Application: Recommended loading levels range from 2-5% based on total formula weight in many waterborne systems. and recommended loading levels range from 3-7% based on total formula weight in traditional solventborne coatings.

HALOX® Z-PLEX® 250 is a white, non-refractive, corrosion inhibiting pigment used in various protective coatings. It is classified as Zn3(PO4)2.2H2O (dihydrate). HALOX® Z-PLEX® 250 is compliant with ASTM D6280, Specification for Zinc Phosphate Pigment Type I. Recommended loading levels range from 5-10% based on total formula weight.
