Deuteron ES 224 is a surface active additive. Its presence in a mixture of unsaturated polyester resin/reactive-solvent (styrene) helps in removing air-bubbles (for instance when mixing resin and curing agent). It improves wetting of the substrate in systems containing extenders.
Because of the above mentioned properties Deuteron ES 224 is an excellent wetting and air release agent in particular for laminating resins based on unsaturated polyester. The product is very suitable in laminating resins where excellent adhesion of polyester resin and glass fiber is required. The product is particularly suitable for thixotropic systems since it has no impact on the rheology (thixotropy).
Because of its cationic character and the extremely high polarity of Deuteron LE 100 LV, the electrical resistance is reduced considerably – even when using small quantities.
Deuteron LE 100 LV is delivered with an active content of 100 %. The product is free of solvent and of low viscosity. It is characterized by ease of handling. Deuteron LE 100 LV can be processed at room temperature and below without melting or producing a master batch. That is why the product is particularly suitable for solvent free systems.
Deuteron LE 100 LV can be used (among others) in PUR-foams (production of shoe-soles), UV- or electron-beam curing screen inks to avoid electrostatic charge.
Deuteron MM 677 can be used as a matting agent in various aqueous coating systems. These can be lacquers based on acrylic dispersion, wood glazings, wood- and furniture lacquers, printing inks and industrial finishes (air-drying and stoving enamels). In comparison with powdery matting agents Deuteron MM 677 particularly offers the advantage of dust-free handling. The product can be easily incorporated by all common dispersing processes. When producing clear varnish, only a small rate of shear is required to incorporate Deuteron MM 677. This prevents forming of micro foam in the production batch. Even when Deuteron MM 677 is added to the mill base or the dispersion-medium, overmilling is practically impossible due to its excellent shear stability. The matting liquid is kept free of wetting agent and binder. Their presence usually limits the compatibility. Waxes or similar products are not included either. This allows for the use of Deuteron MM 677 in a wide field of applications. Deuteron MM 677 causes little cloudiness and is therefore also suitable for the use in clear varnishes.
Deuteron ND 210 is a wetting agent with a cationic effect. It reduces the surface tension of organic solvents or binding agent solutions and thus supports the dispersion process, making it more cost-effective.
Deuteron ND 210 also allows a more economical use of pigments since both the hiding and the coloring powers largely depend on the dispersion conditions. The much-dreaded flooding and floating of pigments can be prevented with Deuteron ND 210.
Deuteron ND 210 is suitable for the production of pigmented coating materials based on oxidative and on physically drying binding agents. The wetting-promoting properties of Deuteron ND 210 are particularly advantageous for the production of highly filled systems, such as pigment paste. Likewise, the agent is also suitable for coating systems for which both of the above aspects are desirable.
