EPOTEC YD 128

Epotec YD 128 is an unmodified liquid epoxy resin with medium viscosity produced from bisphenol-A and epichlorohydrin. This is a standard liquid epoxy resin and a wide variety of curing agents are available to cure this liquid epoxy resin at ambient conditions and also at elevated temperature. When cured with appropriate hardener, epotec YD 128 gives excellent mechanical, chemical, electrical and adhesion properties. Because of these properties it finds use in various applications.

Applications

  • Solvent based, high solids and solvent free coatings
  • Adhesives
  • Civil engineering and construction industry
  • Automotive coatings
  • Can & coil coatings
  • Marine and Industrial protective coatings
  • Tooling, potting, casting and moulding compounds
  • Composites
  • Stabilizer in PVC
EPOTEC YDF 170

Epotec YDF 170 is general-purpose unmodified low viscosity diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-F. In addition to offering advantage in terms low viscosity, epotec YDF 170 provides better chemical resistance & flexibility when compared to similar bisphenol-A based liquid resin.
Epotec YDF 170 is compatible with all common epoxy resins in all ratios. A blend of epotec YDF 170 with bisphenol-A based liquid resin has better resistance to crystallization compared to unmodified base resins. Blending of epotec YDF 170 into std. bis-A based liquid epoxy resin brings down viscosity without affecting performance parameters unlike reactive diluent modified resin that affects mechanical, chemical and thermal resistance of the system.

Applications

  • Solvent based, high solids and solvent free coatings
  • Adhesives
  • Civil engineering and construction industry
  • Automotive coatings
  • Coil coatings
  • Marine and Industrial protective coatings
  • Tooling, potting, casting and molding compounds
  • Composites
EPOTEC YD 515

EPOTEC® YD 515 is a bisphenol-A liquid epoxy resin modified with reactive diluent. This resin offers lower viscosity & lower surface tension. Both these properties are advantageous while formulating. The low viscosity improves the cost effectiveness by increasing filler loading & the low surface tension improves adhesion by better substrate wetting, it also helps in better pigment wetting and thereby improve the pigment dispersion and stability. A wide variety of curing agents are available to cure this liquid epoxy resin at ambient conditions and also at elevated temperature. Sometimes systems based on this grade are post cured to improve certain characteristics such as glass transition temperature and chemical resistance.
EPOTEC YDPN 638

Epotec YDPN 638 is a semi-solid phenol novolac based multifunctional epoxy resin. The high viscosity of this resin render it to be used as it is and invariably it is used in solution form or by blending with other lower viscosity epoxy resins. Epotec YDPN 638 has functionality of approx. 3.6 in its original form. This higher functionality of epotec YDPN 638 imparts highly cross-linked three-dimensional network when cured. This high cross link density offers excellent chemical resistance and mechanical properties such as hardness and abrasion resistance. Epotec YDPN 638 can be used alone or can also be blended with other conventional epoxy resins to improve there chemical and thermal resistance characteristics. It exhibits better retention of chemical, mechanical and electrical resistance properties at elevated temperatures.
