Due to its very gentle and pleasant scent, Cosphaderm pAS natural can be used as a masking agent to cover undesired odour from other ingredients. Another function of anisic acid is the strong antimicrobial efficacy at pH values below 6.0, especially against yeasts and molds.

Cosphaderm LAAS is an aqueous mixture of levulinic acid, p-anisic acid and glycerin. Established as a highly effective combination of natural antimicrobial agents, additional skin conditioning and masking properties are provided by levulinic acid and p-anisic acid. Furthermore, the glycerin content in this preparation helps to support the hydration of the outer layer of the skin. The optimal pH range for Cosphaderm LAAS is between 5.0 and 5.5 to keep antimicrobial activity and solubility in perfect balance. This makes it a perfect choice for formulations at skin pH.

Due to its gentle and pleasant odour, Cosphaderm® Sodium pAS natural can be used as a masking agent to cover undesired odours from other ingredients. Another core property of sodium anisate is the strong antimicrobial efficacy against yeasts and moulds at pH values below 6.0. The big advantage of sodium anisate is its superior water-solubility, which makes this product even easier to incorporate into cosmetic formulations than anisic acid.
