Product Overview
medEctoin® is a natural, cell-protective molecule derived from extremophilic microorganisms. It belongs to the class of cyclic amino acid derivatives (extremolytes) and is produced via biotechnological fermentation to pharmaceutical-grade quality.
medEctoin® is widely used in pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare products, particularly in formulations such as nasal sprays, eye drops, and topical applications.
Mode of Action
medEctoin® has a purely physical, non-pharmacological mode of action.
It forms a protective hydration shell (medEctoin® Hydro-Complex) around biological membranes by binding water molecules. This stabilizes cellular structures, preserves membrane integrity, and protects tissues against environmental and inflammatory stress.
Physical form: White crystalline solid (highly water-soluble)
Function
Cell-protective osmolyte
Membrane stabilizer
Hydration and barrier-support agent
Anti-inflammatory support (physical mechanism)
Applications
medEctoin® is commonly used in:
Ophthalmology (e.g., dry eye disease)
Allergy & Respiratory (e.g., nasal sprays, rhinitis)
Dermatology (e.g., irritated or inflamed skin)
Women’s Health (e.g., vaginal dryness, mucosal care)
Clinical studies demonstrate efficacy in reducing inflammation, improving hydration, and supporting tissue regeneration across these areas.
LEVOFLOXACINE is an antibiotic medication. It is used to treat a number of bacterial infections including acute bacterial sinusitis, pneumonia, H. pylori (in combination with other medications), urinary tract infections, chronic prostatitis, and some types of gastroenteritis.
