BENTONE® EW is a rheological additive for water-borne systems. BENTONE® EW additive is a highly beneficiated, easily dispersible powdered smectite clay. Its applications are Adhesives, Ceramic compounds, Ceramic glazes, Corrosion-inhibitive primers, Cosmetics, Crop protection agents, Electrodeposition coatings, Latex paints, Foundry paints/foundry resins (washes), Oil-in-water emulsions, Other water-borne paint systems, Paper coatings, Polishes and cleaners, Welding electrode.
The use of Deuteron OG 250 affects the surface characteristics of aqueous coating systems.
The low melting point of the used paraffine-wax reduces unwelcome high slipperiness of certain binders (dispersions). Because of this property the product is also suitable as an additive to produce water-based „soft-feeling-lacquers“. On the other hand the use of Deuteron OG 250 can increase the slipperiness of coatings, when the properties imparted by the used binder are not satisfactory.
Application
Aqueous finishing lacquers, packing lacquers, printing inks and aqueous wood stains. „Soft-feeling-lacquers“ for industrial application (combined with matting plastic Deuteron MK).
Deuteron MM 684 is suited for all common coil-coating systems. This includes its utilization in conventional high-quality stove enamels. In addition, Deuteron MM 684 can be used in a variety of applications, preferably in pigmented paints and lacquers.
Deuteron MM 684 is a mixture of finest-ground (micronized) materials that is well suited as a matting agent in paints and lacquers. Apart from the good matting effect, special importance is also attached to a low binder requirement in order not to affect the flow properties of the matted system considerably. This leads to a good formulation margin in the processing.
Deuteron MM 684 does not contain any wax additives, thus coating layers equipped with it are not expected to cause any adhesion problems in multi-layer systems or repair coatings.
