Static light scattering experiments have shown that Cosphaderm® Hexiol can also be used to stabilize o/w emulsions by droplet size reduction. Cosphaderm® SB-75H NON GMO is a COSMOS- and NATRUE-compliant, fractionated and hydrogenated de-oiled soybean lecithin in powdered form with a phosphatidylcholine content exceeding 70%. The hydrogenation of double bonds of the fatty acids provides greater oxidation stability and much better emulsifying and dispersion properties in aqueous media compared to common fractionated lecithin. In addition, Cosphaderm SB-75H NON GMO is a great choice for forming micelles and liposomes since the structure of hydrogenated lecithin facilitates more compact and stable interfaces. Finally, it is an excellent co-emulsifier and emulsifier for both o/w and w/o emulsions, even in cold process formulations, without impacting the formulations color or odor.
