UV-P is a benzotriazole type UV absorber. It has a high absorption in the wavelength of 270~340nm. It is also efficient for the light stabilization of polyvinyl chloride, unsaturated polyurethane, polystyrene, coatings and lacquers.

It exhibits insolubility in water, but good solubility in methanol, ethanol and methylethylbenzene.
