Cosphaderm® Sodium LAAS is a white powder comprising the solid mixture of Sodium Levulinate and Sodium Anisate. This blend displays skin conditioning and masking properties, as well as a broad antimicrobial effectiveness. Cosphaderm® Hexiol is a pure, transparent and colorless glycol. Two vicinal OH-groups and a short carbon chain allow unlimited water-solubility. This property is strongly relevant to its most common cosmetic use as a moisturizer and humectant for both skin care and hair care formulations. Static light scattering experiments have shown that Cosphaderm® Hexiol can also be used to stabilize o/w emulsions by droplet size reduction. Another core property of 1,2-hexanediol is its pH-independent antimicrobial activity. It further shows remarkable synergistic effects in combination with other antimicrobial substances, making it possible to minimize the total amount of combined preserving agents.

Cosphaderm LAAS is an aqueous mixture of levulinic acid, p-anisic acid and glycerin. Established as a highly effective combination of natural antimicrobial agents, additional skin conditioning and masking properties are provided by levulinic acid and p-anisic acid. Furthermore, the glycerin content in this preparation helps to support the hydration of the outer layer of the skin. The optimal pH range for Cosphaderm LAAS is between 5.0 and 5.5 to keep antimicrobial activity and solubility in perfect balance. This makes it a perfect choice for formulations at skin pH.

Cosphaderm® GeMix is a multifunctional blend of glyceryl caprylate and glyceryl undecylenate. Produced from natural sources, it is a biodegradable blend with emollient, emulsifying, moisturizing, skin and hair conditioning as well as re-fatting properties. Cosphaderm GeMix combines the additional antimicrobial properties of both ingredients in one raw material. Glyceryl caprylate provides a strong antimicrobial efficiency against bacteria and yeasts whereas glyceryl undecylenate shows great efficiency against gram-positive bacteria, yeasts and molds. Combination of both ingredients leads to full spectrum microbial protection in a pH range from 3.5 to 7.5.
