Carbomer
The Acrypol polymer range is a family of high molecular weight, highly coiled acidic polymers used primarily as rheology modifiers in aqueous and some solvent systems. They provide high viscosity even at low concentrations, maintain uniform performance up to 75 °C, and resist bacterial or mold growth, giving excellent shelf life. Neutralization with bases like NaOH, KOH, TEA, or ammonia allows maximum thickening and smooth, luxurious texture. These polymers are non-toxic, not absorbed by the body, and safe for cosmetic use.
