Lake Allura Red is a water-insoluble pigment. It is widely used to impart a vibrant red hue to various products. The lake form of the dye is created by combining the dye with a substrate, typically aluminium hydroxide, which makes it insoluble in water but dispersible in oils and fats. Used in confectionery, baked goods and snacks as well as tablet coatings, syrups and other medicinal products to enhance visual appeal. Can also be incorporated into cosmetics.

A yellow-coloured liquid consisting of curcumin obtained from the turmeric root (Curcuma longa L.) which has been rendered water dispersible.

A blue coloured liquid consisting of spirulina extract (Arthrospira platensis).

A reddish orange coloured viscous liquid consisting of capsanthin/capsorubin from paprika extract (Capsicum annuum L.) which has been rendered water miscible.
