Cosphaderm® Propanediol natural palm free is a pure, transparent and colorless diol. Its polar character allows unlimited water-solubility. Produced by fermentation of corn and used as a substitute for propylene glycol, it is an ideal solution for creating formulations without petrochemical or palm oil ingredients. At the same time, it can help to protect a formulation from uncontrolled microbial growth by boosting the efficiency of the preservative system.

Cosphaderm® Dicapo natural is a cost-efficient, multifunctional blend based on natural and COSMOS-approved caprylyl glycol in combination with glyceryl caprylate and propanediol. Caprylyl glycol is an emollient with Humectant abilities as well as skin and hair conditioning properties. Glyceryl caprylate is an emollient and co-emulsifier with moisturizing, wetting and refatting properties. Propanediol keeps the other two components in solution for ease of application and contributes Humectant and emollient properties to the blend. All three substances additionally have a mild but efficient antimicrobial character. Taken together, the blend has moisturizing and emollient properties while offering comprehensive antimicrobial protection over a broad pH-range in a wide variety of formulations.

Cosphaderm Heptiol natural is a pure and colourless diol with a water-solubility of up to 1%. It is used as a moisturizer and Humectant for both skin care and hair care formulations. Static light scattering experiments have shown that Cosphaderm diols can also be used to stabilize o/w emulsions by droplet size reduction. Another property of 1,2-heptanediol is its pH-independent antimicrobial activity. It further shows remarkable synergistic effects in combination with other antimicrobial substances, making it possible to minimize the total amount of combined preserving agents.
