VIACRYL SC 121/60LG is a sole binder for road-marking paints. Fast drying primers and top coats for nonferrous metal and plastic substrates. It is used as road-marking paints Viacryl SC 121/60LG was especially developed as sole binder for road-marking paints. Road-marking paints based on this copolymer have excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance, permanent flexibility as well as good whiteness retention. It is, however, recommended to first conduct a trial application under the given conditions to ensure suitability. Coating of plastics One-coat paints based on Viacryl SC 121 show especially good adhesion to plastics such as PVC, acrylic sheet, polycarbonate and polyester reinforced components. Primers and top-coats on metallic substrates. In view of its fast initial and through drying as well as its good water resistance Viacryl SC 121 is suitable for formulation one-coat paints and industrial primers. Coatings based on this product show good adhesion to steel, aluminium and zinc. For aluminium substrates a binder pigment ratio of about 1 : 2 should be selected. For steel a ratio of 1 : 1.5 is recommended. Decorative finishes are generally pigmented in ratios of 1 : 1 (binder/pigment) on solids.

VIACRYL SC 341/60SNABAC has a superior radiance, high surface hardness, excellent weather resistance. Medium solid acrylic resin for uni-coloured automobile finishes and isocyanate systems. With light stabilizers for clear coats over metallic basecoats. Easy and safe application. Viacryl SC 341 is used in combination with amino resins, preferably with reactive melamine resins. Polyurethane based thickness layer coatings can be formulated in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates (e.g. Desmodur N). Stoving paints Suitable crosslinkers for Viacryl SC 341 in the first place are butylated melamine resins in a resin solids ratio of from 70 : 30 to 80 : 20. Spray application of paints on Viacryl SC 341 is excellent. Even when applied in thick layer, there is only a slight tendency to saging on vertical surfaces and to blistering or popping during stoving. The paints may also be rendered thicotropic with silicates, without the gloss being reduced. Film properties. Film of paints on Viacryl SC 341 have a superior decorative performance, like radiant brilliance, excellent levelling and very good build besides great hardness and gasoline resistance. Weathering tests in Florida showed very finishes.

VIACRYL SC 303/65XB

Automotive finishes, in particular for metallics, especially for metallic basecoats (wet-on-wet process). Stoving enamels with good outdoor stability and colour retention, for general industrial purposes. Viacryl SC 303/65XB is used in combination with melamine and urea resins for the formulation of stoving enamels. The principal application area is automotive finishes, in particular metallics and clear coats for two-coat metallic systems, in combination with cellulose acetobutyrate for basecoats in two-coat metallics, but also industrial applications such as electric night storage heaters, fluorescent lamps, household appliances, boilers and drying boxes. In addition to their good adhesion, gloss, hardness, flexibility and corrosion resistance, paint films based on Viacryl SC 303 have very good stability to heat and to UV radiation. This is impressively evident in the case of top coats in two-coat metallic paints which, after prolonged outdoor exposure in Florida, show neither discolouration, cracking nor gloss impairment.

VIACRYL SC 200/40X

Air and forced drying industrial coatings with fast drying and high hardness. Specialty coatings for glass, precious metals and plastics. It is used as air drying coating systems Viacryl SC 200/40X is mainly used for fast drying industrial paints. The dried films are noted for very high hardness and excellent resistance poperties e.g. against water and diluted acids. For air-dried systems (tack-free in 15 minutes) Viacryl SC 200 can be used alone or in combination with plasticizers. Such systems compared with systems using Viacryl SC 200 as sole binder show better pigment wetting and flexibility. The use of plasticizers will, however have a negative influence on alkali resistance. The compatibility of Viacryl SC 200 with other coatings ingredients should be controlled from time to time. Stoving enamels For stoving systems Viacryl SC 200 is generally formulated with plasticizers and urea or melamine resins. The following ratios habe proven successful: Viacryl SC 200 : amino resin : plasticizer = 70 : 15 : 15 or 65 : 15 : 20 (on solids). Compared with air drying systems such systems show after curing (e. g. 30 min/140 Â°C) improved flexibility, hardness, impact and chip resistance. Specialty coatings For air drying as well as stoving systems Viacryl SC 200 can be used to formulate specialty coatings with good adhesion to glass, precious metals, and various plastics such as ABS and polyphenylene oxide (PPO).
